Description

I photographed this from a Talkeetna flightseeing plane over Ruth Glacier in Denali National Park and Preserve. From the air, the glacier’s sweeping curve reads like a frozen river, with a dark ribbon of meltwater and debris tracing its flow through the valley. Low clouds lingered along the ridgelines, opening briefly to reveal the scale and fine texture of the ice—an unforgettable perspective on how powerful and dynamic these protected public lands are.
