Description

We left the heat of the summer behind to explore a nearby Utah Scenic Byway. The mountains that surround the Salt Lake County and Utah County areas are breathtaking and right at our fingertips. So we ventured south of us in our VW convertible bug to the highest mount in Utah's Wasatch Range, Nebo Mountain, that towers at 11,933 ft. We call this bugging out which we try to do between our camping and 4 wheeling trips to all the different amazing sites along the Wasatch Front. It's allot of fun to be retired in Utah because there's so much to do and enjoy! As we climbed along the Nebo Loop, we found ourselves further and further into the clouds the higher we got. We reached the lookout just in time to watch as the clouds eat up the mountains as if a famished dragon. Really cool. Descending from there, the weather started to clear up exposing hillsides of wild flowers. Beautiful!
