Description

On the trail to Chesler Park: The spires that gave this section of the park it's name were the result of uplift, erosion, and the flow of salt which cracked the Cedar Mesa Sandstone, beginning millions of years ago. Really can't learn enough about these formations and their ancient history. As a transplant to Monticello from the Northeastern US all of this area was entirely new and a great suggestion by a park staff member, also from the Buffalo, NY area. Small world!
