Description

Powerful rock formations rise boldly from the ocean in front of a Milky Way backdrop. Getting this shot took wading out in chilly Fall waters, waiting two hours as the tide rose to the right level, and enduring crabs nibbling at my bare feet. Swimming back with my tripod held above the water in one hand was a fun challenge. Light from a passing car perfectly illuminated the rocks just at the right time. I nickname these 'Avatar Rocks' as their shape reminds me of the movie's floating mountains.
