Description

Katmai blew my mind. I had expected to go, see some bears and get a few reasonable photos. I had not expected to fall in love with the place. When I was there, the salmon were running well and bears were everywhere, generally uninterested in their human observers. When there, you are really able to watch bear behavior up close. The Rangers know many of the bears by name. It was incredible watching the bears catch salmon. This bear was just catching them by stomping on them with his paws.
