Description

While visiting Wrangell-St Elias National Park in the summer of 2024 in the McCarthy area, I took a picture of the Kennecott Copper Mine. Nearly $200M of copper was processed in this mine between 1911 and 1938. In addition, silver was also mined here. Although most of the mountains are not showing because of clouds, the peak of one mountain peaks through the clouds. I later took a tour of the mine from top to bottom and it was interesting to see many of the machines still looking in working order.
