Description

We were really glad we were finally able to visit Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument, but they certainly don't make it easy. It had been closed from March 2020 until November 2024 due to the impact of over-visitation. Even now, they’re only open Sunday – Thursday. The number of visitors is very limited. You must first book a reservation at recreation.gov and then obtain a Cochiti Pueblo Tribal Access Pass. When you arrive, you check in at the monument’s Visitor Center and wait to be escorted by a pilot car.

We loved the unique rock formations. This photo was taken from the Slot Canyon Trail overlook.
