Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest

Submitted {{media.upload | relativeTime}}

At over an elevation of 11,000 ft stands a lone ancient bristlecone pine, one of the oldest living trees in the world. This tree, among others in this forest, has lived for over 4,000 years. It has withstood the frictions of climate, conflict, and civilizations. By observing this tree, we are looking into our Earth's past. In perspective with the grandeur of the night sky above, we are looking into the history of our home planet and our universe.
