Grand Canyon National Park - South Rim

Description

There are undoubtedly millions of sunset photos taken at the Grand Canyon taken every year but I like this one I took for several reasons. The colors are beautiful of course, but this photo was taken in early August when drought was hitting the region hard and the park was under water restrictions, and I really like that the juniper tree in the foreground seems to twist and reach for the distant rain shower on the horizon. Both the storm and the tiny gleam of the Colorado River deep in the canyon seem at once both very close and very far away.
