Description

Big Bend has some incredible back country sites! When I booked this one for February, I was totally psyched to explore a part of Texas I had never been. For years, I didn't realize Texas had national parks, but it does and they are STUNNING. Prior to my trip, I imagined sun, sun, and more sun. I'm an Oregonian, need I say more?

To my surprise, I was in for a very snowy treat, otherwise known as Winter Storm Uri. Waking up to cacti draped in snow, these mountains in white and this backcountry road all to myself was pure magic. The only thing that would have made my stay better, would be the special appearance of a javelina!
