Description

With cheeks flushed, sweat droplets trickling down our faces and a 9-year-old stopping for water breaks every 5 minutes--we had finally just about completed the Saddle Pass + Castle Trail loop. Upon starting the hike, we felt certain we would spot a rattle snake in the tall grass, but our hike was nearly over and we hadn't seen a single animal. Not until spotting the only tiny sliver of shade on the entire trail and lo and behind, a very sleepy rabbit. So sleepy that it stretched its arms way out front and let out a giant yawn seconds before lying down for a nap.
