Description

The Pueblo ruins of the American southwest are like the castles of Europe. My wife and I were blown away by how big and relatively intact many of the structures are in Wupatki, but what really made me feel connected to the place and the ancient people who lived there was seeing the next ruin off in the distance, traveling to it and seeing the next one after that, how each settlement was in line-of-sight to at least one other one.
