Description

A manatee rises to the surface from the bottom of a spring run in order to take a breath. During the winter months, manatees seek refuge in Florida's many freshwater springs to rest, breed, and raise their young. The springs are fed by the Florida aquifer, and therefore maintain a relatively constant temperature year-round.
