Description

Frozen in Rock - Some of the terraces at Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone National Park. The colors are from bacteria that live at different temperatures with the hot springs. The terraces aren't what they used to be 20 years ago when an earthquake cutoff the water flow to over 80% of the terrace. But if you take the time to explore you can still find some flowing sections that look great in the light of dawn. I believe this picture was taken at the Main Terrace Overlook
