Description

The Gettysburg National Cemetery is the final resting place of 3500 Union soldiers who died at the Battle of Gettysburg during the American Civil War in 1863. President Abraham Lincoln gave his famous "Gettysburg Address" speech here at the dedication of the cemetery.
My husband and I took a break from hiking the Appalachian Trail to visit this hallowed ground.
