Description

This summer afternoon view of the Antietam National Battlefield captures the historic wooden fences which replicate actual fences present during the Battle of Antietam in 1862. In the background is the ~60 foot War Department Observation Tower.
My husband and I took a break from hiking the Appalachian Trail in Maryland to visit this hallowed ground.
