Blue hour at Antietam Battlefield with a Civil War Cannon, limber and the New York State Monument in the background:
While hiking the Appalachian Trail in Maryland, my husband and I took a day off to visit this holy ground where ~23,000 soldiers were killed or wounded on September 17, 1862 during the Civil War.
