Description

Immature Great Blue Heron in Lotus Pond. The heron appeared to be stalking fish swimming in the pond; it subsequently thrust its head into the water. Kenilworth Park & Aquatic Gardens, which is next to the Anacostia River and has ponds, lotus flowers, and a marsh, is a great place to experience nature in urban Washington, D.C.
