Utah is filled with hidden gems and amazing landscapes to discover. On a week long road trip visiting some of the national parks and national monuments, I made a stop at one of the many slot canyons that dot the southern part of the state. It was mid December and the temperatures were barely above 20 degrees that day. I had never visited this slot canyon before but I knew that a good portion of it was usually filled with water. For that reason, I through on my waders and began the 2 mile trek to the canyons entrance. When I arrived, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It was this beautiful slot canyon where water had carved gorgeous lines and curves into the red stone. I had the whole place to myself and happily began hiking the narrow path. In certain areas the canyon was too narrow to walk through so I had to climb 10 feet above the canyon floor and shimmy across the walls using my hands and feet as anchors. When I finally arrived at the back of the canyon it was one of the most amazing sites I had ever scene. The lines on the walls of the canyons looked like stripes on a zebra. I spent nearly an hour observing the beauty and taking photos.
