Description

On a frigid morning in early March, my alarm in my tent went off at 5:00 am. I jumped out of my frosty sleeping bag and through on my clothes as fast as I could. I needed to be in the hills of Teddy Roosevelt National Park well before the sun came up so I could capture the photo I had always imagined. By 5:30am I was sitting on top of a ridge line watching a herd of bison slowly feed on the hillside across from me. As the sun slowly started to come up behind the bison I almost began to shake with excitement. In the cold air, the rising sun illuminated their breath almost as if they were dragons. I happily fired off as many photos as I could.
