As the salmon run starts to dwindle, tensions rise as one fish could be the difference between life and death. These two brown bear sows, both with two spring cubs, began a heated battle after the smaller sow on the right caught a fish and proceeded to walk past the larger sow. The larger sow, wanting the fish for herself, charged quickly and chaos broke out. The cubs scattered and the two moms fought for a few minutes. Eventually the larger sow on the left was victorious and claimed her prize of salmon. They both escaped without injury.
