Description

SUPERBLOOM: The days were cold, wet, and gloomy. Day after day the conditions remained, making it feel like a single, eternally-long moment. Then, the sun began to peek out from behind the clouds, reaching through the tiny space with its rays and tearing a greater gap in the grey sheet that covered Carrizo Plain National Monument. The growing warmth signaled to the young plants that it was time to emerge from their blanket of soil. The bleak landscape became flooded from the tops of the mountains and pouring into the plains with splashes of green, yellow, purple, and orange. Gray skies turned to a vibrant blue. The rain gifted us such beauty; gifts come in all forms.
