Description

My brother and I went on a week long backpacking trip in the Sierra Nevadas in search of some of California's native trout species. This was on our first day backpacking into the Kearsarge Lakes. The hike was hard and had unrelenting switchbacks. We had to hike over the pass, which was to the right of the peak in the picture. We were at about 11,000 ft and had to take frequent breaks. I took this picture as we were taking a break before our final push over the pass.
