Description

“The Scuffle” ; American wild stallions battle dramatically for hierarchy, sending young foals scattering from the melee. Light from ‘golden hour’ illuminates their massive shapes. This was captured near a desert watering hole where the horses will often fight for pecking order. The area, known as Simpson Springs, is the exact location of the historic 1860’s Pony Express mail route. This shot was taken from about a tenth of a mile away. This original, unaltered photo, took weeks to capture.
