I first visited Death Valley National Park in the middle of summer while a wildfire was raging in the nearby Coachella valley. One of the spots we identified for a sunset shoot was Dante's view. Dante’s View at 5475 ft above sea level along the crest of the Black mountains is a refreshing change from the searing heat of Death Valley. I am also sure the smoke from the wildfire contributed towards the color in the sky that day.
