Description

My backpacking trip the day before had been a flop. First, I got caught in a thunderstorm, then crossed paths with a wolf on the trail in my hasty retreat back to the car. A little shook, I found a forest service road across the Sawtooth Valley to sleep on and regroup, but the next morning didn't bring the clarity I was hoping for. This trip did not turn out at all as planned, but was a great reminder in trusting my gut and remembering that getting out alive is really always the ultimate goal.
