A misty morning on Muir Inlet in Glacier Bay National Park. The lesser-visited of the two great arms of the Bay, Muir Inlet offers tranquility and quietude – and lush shorelines frequently visited by brown bears and moose. On this morning in late July, the wind was calm, the water was still and the silence was broken by the eerie trumpeting of humpback whales.
