Description

Tarr Inlet is the dramatic crescendo of Glacier Bay. Two immense glaciers – the Marjorie and the Grand Pacific - calve almost continuously, often filling the vast inlet at the head of the Bay with floating ice. The brash ice hisses like a bromide, releasing eons-old oxygen into the water. Illuminated by the warm evening light, the scene is one of classic beauty.
