Description

Marble Island in Glacier Bay National Park is a Stellar sea lion 'haul out' on an epic scale. Off limits to humans, passing boaters are treated to the drama of sea lions bellowing and jousting for position on the sculpted rock, part Greek tragedy, part slapstick comedy. In addition to these massive pinnipeds, birds are everywhere; including puffins, bald eagles, guillemots, kittiwakes and murrelets. In addition to the visual impact, the olfactory wallop is quite overwhelming.
