Description

Last August, just before his senior year of high school, my son and I made a weekend getaway to reconnect, recharge and explore Great Basin together. Between the alpine peaks, high desert skies and ancient bristle-cone pines, it’s a magical place, and something about this photo of him wading headlong into the snow melt waters of Stella Lake some 10,000 feet above sea level.
It reminds me that the sense of possibility they give us is one of the greatest reasons we visit and support these places.
