Snow geese "blast off" at Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge.
Thousands of migrating snow geese, along with sandhill cranes, gather at Bosque del Apache NWR during the winter migration. The flocks reenergize in the well-managed wetlands feeding among harvested fields during the day. When the geese take off from where they have been roosting or feeding they simultaneously “blast off” with a spectacle of sight and sound.
