The 3,118-foot Paw Paw Tunnel was completed in 1850 to reduce the distance required by boats to reach Cumberland, MD. Today, the tunnel and canal function as a path for hikers, bicyclists, and history buffs. This was a long exposure that I took using my tripod. The ambient light from the entrance of the tunnel helps to illuminate the extensive brick work inside the tunnel. It's a beautifully preserved structure that helps tell the story of America's early transportation history.
