Description

I live in the Southwest with my wife and two boys. We are blessed to have many national parks and public lands only a short drive from our home. We spend most of our weekends heading out into nature with our Airstream travel trailer. This photo was taken on one such weekend trip. We were lucky enough to visit the park in early May when Medano Creek was running strong and my oldest son, pictured in the photograph, had the time of his life playing in the shallow, muddy waters. I snapped this photo in the late afternoon as we were walking back to the creek from our campsite. The light gave the dunes and surrounding brush a beautiful warmth that caused the water in the creek to shimmer. I was trailing behind my wife with our two boys and couldn’t resist the opportunity to capture our family in such a beautiful setting.
