Description

Coyote Places the Stars. A petroglyph panel on a high rock cliff face along the (46-mile long) Nine Mile Canyon in Utah. Known as the "world's longest art gallery", thousands of petroglyphs can be viewed from the roadway. Surveying this cliff face with binoculars brought this one into view. Not listed in any guides, this particular panel matches a Native American Legend of "Coyote Places the Stars", where Coyote is a trickster and scatters a bag of stars after becoming bored with placing them in the sky in an orderly way.
