Description

Kennecott Mines, a national historic landmark, processed copper from 1911 through 1938. While many of the buildings were left abandoned for years and ultimately succumbed to the elements, many others were saved by the efforts of the NPS and the local community. The efforts to rehabilitate some of the other facilities is an ongoing mission to preserve the history for future visitors to the area.
