Description

Strike Valley overlook is the best location in the park where you have a panoramic view of waterpocket fold within Capitol Reef National Park. The Waterpocket Fold is the major geologic feature that defines Capitol Reef National Park. It is abuckle in the earth's surface, almost 100 miles long, running north-south from Thousand Lake Mountaindown to Lake Powell. This overlook is hard to access as it requires a 4WD SUV. The large rocks on the unpaved road stopped my car and I had to hike half of.
